Ned Lamont: American Hero

lieberman, lamontMy heartfelt congratulations go to Ned Lamont for his victory over Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Democratic primary. Lamont, a novice politician — really a citizen-politician — had the gumption (and the cash) to take on an entrenched incumbent who claimed to be a Democrat, but whose affectionate kowtowing to the Bush administration made it hard to tell. With his victory, Lamont sent a message to the political establishment: We’re upset about the tragedy in Iraq, and we need it fixed — not papered over, as Lieberman did with his smile-faced support of W.

Way to go Ned! Democracy still works in America. After years of the worst leadership we’ve ever suffered from, it’s long past time to change. Mr. Lamont, you stood up and led the charge.
